In February 1972, Wings embarked on a university tour. As it was the first tour for a newly formed band, it was an unusual tour, involving direct negotiations with each university and performances taking place on the day of the concert. This release features a tour rehearsal held at the ICA in London on February 1, 1972, just before the start of the university tour. While fragments of the ICA rehearsal have been recorded before, this marks the first time the complete version has been released. It can be considered a companion album to the label's "WINGS FLIGHT FEATHERS," which features a performance at the University of Nottingham.

The audio disc is not simply the audio portion of the DVD, but a separate line recording, not derived from the video. While the performance is quite rough due to its rehearsal nature, Paul's youthful and fierce energy is striking.

Although the ICA rehearsal has been included in various titles in bits and pieces, this release will be the definitive release. Recently, HMC released an ICA rehearsal recording, but it used audio from YouTube. The album cover claims that "Lucille" and "Wild Life" each have two takes, but in reality, the same takes are reused twice, and the same take is reused for "The Mess." The editing is extremely sloppy, and although the recording is just over 77 minutes long, after removing the duplicates, the actual recording is much shorter. This release, however, features the rehearsal from that day without any duplicates, in the correct track order, and still manages to be the longest recording at just over 79 minutes, pushing the limits of the CD's recording time.

The DVD disc contains video footage of this rehearsal. While this footage was recently uploaded to YouTube, this release is recorded from a 16mm master film, setting it apart in quality. The version available on YouTube has a green filter over the monochrome sections and poor image quality. This release, on the other hand, features monochrome sections in monochrome and vibrant colors in color, ensuring everything is properly captured. The chapters are organized by slate rather than by song, and the presence of a clapperboard at the beginning of each chapter suggests that this is rare leaked footage not found on YouTube.

Gustav Mahler's tombstone only bears his name, without even his birth and death dates. "Those who visit my grave should know who I was, and there's no need for others to know." Avid fans will know what this work is about, and no explanation is needed for those who aren't.

This is the latest release in the RECORDING VAULT series, featuring high-quality, rare audio and video recordings. Perhaps the best discovery in recent years, this release contains the longest previously unreleased audio and video recordings of the February 1, 1972 London ICA rehearsal, a long-awaited event for fans. The audio is a soundboard recording, not derived from video. The video is from a 16mm master film, significantly different from YouTube.
