Aftershow - Hotel Gansevoort, New York, October 11, 2008

October 10, 2008: 21 Nights photobook celebration and benefit gig for Love 4 One Another charity and Taja Sevelle's Urban Farming. Colonized Mind's first performance, new member Frederic Enjoy Yonnet's harmonica playing, resulting in innovative, horn-less arrangements of hits. Also included is the after-show from the gig. Other tracks include "Crimson and Clover" from LOtUSFLOW3R, "Controversy" (including a snippet of "Another Like Me" from MPLSound), a long-awaited cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Red House," a cover of India Arie's "Brown Skin," the delightfully cutting "Long Train Runnin'," and even "I Want to Be Free" by the Ohio Players, featuring snippets of their then-new song "Chocolate Box." This release also features a barrage of test runs from the new album, making for a truly spectacular live performance. While the original recordings were excellent for a candid recording, this remastering brings Prince's guitar and vocals to the forefront for a truly immersive sound. Also included is a recording of his guitar playing during a Q-Tip performance.
