This release features two complete recordings of Renaissance's second Japan tour in nine years, both captured in ultra-high-quality audience recordings.
Discs 1 and 2, up to the first track, capture the August 21st performance at Club Citta Kawasaki. The original audience master, recorded from the front row of the venue, has been digitally remastered in 24-bit, resulting in a complete recording of the entire live performance, from the live performance of the opening "Prologue" to the encore finale "Burning Ashes," with a superb, three-dimensional sound.
Annie Haslam's vocals defy her age, and her moving performance, particularly in the new song "The Mystic And The Muse," showcases a new dimension to her singing. Her powerful rendition of the ending of "Burning Ashes" is a must-listen for all fans!
Tracks 2 onwards on Disc 2 are from her performance at the "Progressive Rock Festival" held the following day at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall.
While this is a shorter set at the festival and therefore somewhat less impressive than the Club Citta performance, it captures this precious festival live performance—held under the scorching sun with the sound of cicadas echoing—with excellent sound quality and a strong sense of presence. It's a superb recording that fans shouldn't miss.
