This release represents the ultimate Voidoids broadcast collection. It features a newly unearthed recording of "Love Comes In Spurts"—previously missing from the otherwise complete, unreleased 1982 Old Waldorf tapes—now digitally remastered in 24-bit audio. It also includes a bonus compilation of a 1978 CBGB broadcast from the band's peak era. The broadcast-quality recordings offer superb sound.
To ensure the best listening experience, noise between tracks and unwanted crowd chatter have been carefully edited out, and waveform adjustments were made to bring Robert Quine's guitar to the forefront.
Listeners can fully appreciate the invaluable guitar and drum work of Robert Quine and Fred Maher, both of whom would later work with Lou Reed. The cover of Dylan's "Going, Going, Gone" is a highlight, delivered with a fierce, high-octane intensity. While Marc Bell's drumming is excellent, there is something special about the combination of Fred Maher's drums, Quine's razor-sharp guitar tone, Hell's bass, and his weary, ragged vocals. Noakes' guitar work also cuts through with an edgy, ultra-cool vibe.
This album encapsulates the true essence of NY punk.
