Original Mono & Multitrack Sound Elements Were  Remixed And Remastered At Abbey Road Studios, London, March 1992
New Digitally Remastered 2016

First released in 2016 on the HMC label, this long-awaited remaster of the film "Let It Be" was newly restored by Apple in 1992 by Beatles archive producer Ron Furmanek. Compared to the video footage and TV broadcast versions briefly released in the 1980s, the image quality is significantly improved, and the mono audio has been converted to stereo through multi-track editing. Unfortunately, the crucial 1992 production date was omitted from the HMC version, but this release includes the complete, uncut version, including the end credits. This marks the first time the original footage on which the HMC version was based is available.

DVD Disc 1 includes newly discovered footage, "APPLE 1992 COMPLETE REMASTER UNCUT," and the "COMPLETE FULLSCREEN EDITION," known as the West German print. The 1992 version, the focus of this release, also features optional Japanese subtitles, translated differently from the previous version. While the 1992 version had cropping at the bottom and right, the full-screen version features the least amount of cropping in a 4:3 aspect ratio. It offers the best picture quality for a TV broadcast, and audio is available in either stereo remastered or original mono.

DVD Disc 2 contains two versions: the "WIDE SCREEN & REMASTER EDITION" and the "ORIGINAL STANDARD MOVIE EDITION." The widescreen version is a 16:9 widescreen version with some top and bottom cropping, but is a full-screen version that fills the screen on today's standard widescreen TVs. Also included is 5.1 Dolby Surround as an audio option. Playing it in a surround environment allows for a more three-dimensional soundscape, such as the footsteps at the beginning of the film moving from rear to front. The original movie version contains the film as it was released on video and laserdisc in the 1980s. This was the only official release, and it's a valuable resource for comparing and verifying the differences with other versions.

DVD Disc 3 offers an even more comprehensive collection than ever before, featuring documentary footage, alternate edits, naked promos, and related TV footage. Also included is the previously unreleased "Japanese TV Broadcast," a complete recording of the 1984 Japanese TV broadcast, directly from the original videotape. While the picture quality is inferior to other versions, it includes original subtitles and nostalgic TV commercials, making it a rare and treasured piece.

DVD Disc 4 features "The Get Back Sessions," a chronological documentary spanning over four hours. This must-see collection includes rare outtakes from sessions outside the film, as well as a re-creation of the rooftop performance, recorded live before the film's release. In addition to previously unreleased interviews, this release also includes never-before-seen footage. While these are fragments, they offer some fascinating footage never before seen. Finally, the CD includes the 1992 remaster by Ron Furmanek, the original soundtrack from the film "Let It Be." The newly remastered stereo audio, produced from multi-track editing at Abbey Road Studios, captures the naked sound of the Low Gen band and is a must-listen.

This premium edition offers significantly more content than previous releases, and all four DVDs are dual-layer pressed vinyl.
