As the anthology's tagline states, "You haven't heard everything yet!", you'll be surprised to find new Beatles recordings. This release features never-before-seen tracks, demos, alternate mixes, and other all-new material. Three particularly noteworthy tracks from 1963 are particularly noteworthy: "Love of the Loved," "Misery," and "What Goes On."

The existence of "Love of the Loved" has long been known, thanks to circulating photos of the acetate label, but now it can be heard for the first time. There are various theories about the year of recording. The song was performed by a band at the Decca audition on New Year's Day, 1962, and the Beatles owned the recording. It's questionable why they would bother cutting acetates for a demo. Furthermore, the song itself seems less complete than when it was recorded on Decca, suggesting it may have been recorded in 1961.

However, Dick James' acetate label remains, making it highly likely that the album was recorded under Brian Epstein's production. This suggests that it dates from early 1963, a time when the band was simply recording demos of original songs onto acetate discs. Therefore, the album is dated 1963.

"Misery" is a demo recorded at the Cavern Club. John sings over a rhythm track, with the other band members occasionally adding choruses. The vocals on the demo of "Lost Love" are by John, not Ringo. Surprisingly, John's version of "Lost Love" is also different in structure; the only difference is the title phrase; the rest of the melody is completely different from the released version, making it sound like a completely different song.

Before the Beatles became famous, they would often motivate themselves by saying "Toppermost of the Poppermost," a play on the radio show "Top of the Pops." This album features rare studio tracks spanning the Beatles' career from that period through to 1969, including never-before-seen recordings. "Love of the Loved" and "Misery" are included in noiseless, clean versions, and the original acetate recordings are included as bonus tracks. All other tracks are new recordings.
