The title "NASTY MUSIC" may evoke old vinyl bootlegs for many, but the content is unprecedentedly comprehensive, fitting the subtitle of "THE LOST LIVE ALBUM," which encompasses all of the 1973 soundboard recordings.
Disc 1 features the first show in Brussels on October 17, 1973. While its high sound quality has led to numerous releases, this recording has been further refined with a new remaster, resulting in ultra-high quality sound that rivals the second show, described below. This should be self-explanatory for many enthusiasts. "STARFUCKER," the only song cut from the broadcast due to lyrics, is also included here as an audience recording. Disc 2 also features the second show from the Brussels performance on October 17, 1973. The original noise and other artifacts have been neatly removed, allowing for differentiation even among different recordings with the same content.
Disc 3 contains other surviving 1973 soundboard recordings. These include six tracks from the Wembley performance in London on September 9, 1973, three from the Newcastle performance on September 13, 1973, and "Brown Sugar" from Rotterdam on October 14, 1973, all of which are essential components of "NASTY MUSIC." Additionally, four soundboard recordings from the Munich performance on September 28, 1973, are included. Unfortunately, only "Brown Sugar" from the second show has been recorded in its entirety; the other three songs have been edited from audience sources so that they can be listened to in their entirety. The soundboard recording of "GIMME SHELTER" from the first Munich show is particularly rare.
The classic title is "NASTY MUSIC." While the title is familiar, the contents are a definitive compilation that covers all the soundboard recordings from 1973, mainly from the Brussels performance.
