-Recorded Live at Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York, USA, June 22, 1975-
This is the definitive recording of the Madison Square Garden concert in New York City on June 22, 1975, famous for Eric Clapton's surprise appearance during the encore of "Sympathy for the Devil." While this live performance has been released numerous times on VGP and other well-known sources (Source A), this release features a newly discovered, previously unreleased recording (Source B) from a low-generation master. This (Source B) originally had a cleaner, clearer sound quality than the conventional (Source A), and a natural, mild quality with no excessive EQ processing. Furthermore, the pitch has been accurately corrected, and only the parts that were originally missing due to tape changes have been supplemented with (Source A). (Disc 1) is 67 minutes and 01 seconds, and (Disc 2) is 79 minutes and 03 seconds, making this the longest recording ever and the definitive edition. Featuring a 15-minute "Sympathy for the Devil" with Clapton's fluid solo, and many other highlights, this is a master-quality recording packed with great performances!
