"Soul Train," a TV program that symbolizes the golden age of Black music in the 1970s. This is the 8th installment of the best compilation series, compiling rare performances from its precious on-air footage. This time too, it's a fantastic lineup, starting with the jazz-funk Ramsey Lewis Trio, followed by another appearance by The O'Jays. Then there's the angelic voice of Minnie Riperton and the passionate Spanish guitar of José Feliciano. The hard-working group Dynamic Superiors. And the powerful Ike & Tina Turner in their prime. Pretty & funky Ronette, The Crusaders around the time Larry Carlton officially joined. Furthermore, the nationally popular Ben Verlin, The Whispers with the beautiful voices of the Scott brothers again, Gino Vannelli who still has many devoted fans, and a precious young Chaka Khan & Rufus! From Bohanon's superb performance where the behind-the-scenes members stepped to the forefront, to Charles Wright, a well-known figure in the rare groove scene, to Kool & the Gang in their heyday, and the Jackson Sisters, a rare groove group singing Johnny Bristol songs, this 116-minute album is once again a treasure trove of black music.
