Brecker Evans Soulbop Special Edition feat. S. Lukather & R. Ford / Ode To The East Part-2 (2CDR)

This is a superb audience recording of the March 5th Tokyo performance from the 2010 Japan tour of the Brecker Evans Soulbop Band, the band led by Randy Brecker and Bill Evans, featuring Steve Lukather and Robben Ford on guitar, under the name "Brecker Evans Soulbop Special Edition."

This second show, the final stage of their Tokyo run, saw a second encore performance of "Some Skunk Funk," an unusual occurrence at this venue, in response to the enthusiastic cheers for an encore that wouldn't stop after the show ended.

As the audience's excitement symbolizes, the performance, from the main set to the encore of "Jean Pierre," is a masterpiece that can be considered the culmination of the Tokyo shows. It's hard to believe that this band, formed after hastily rehearsing in a Tokyo studio after arriving in Japan, delivered such a flawless performance.
