A collector's item featuring rare live video and audio recordings of Christian Escoude has arrived. This DVD features a digitally remastered recording of Christian Escoude's performance as the "Gypsy Trio" at the 1993 Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy, taken from the broadcast master. While the picture quality is somewhat rough and analog-like, there are no major video glitches, and the audio is wonderfully clear stereo. The setlist is incredibly varied, featuring classics like "The Day I Met Bill Evans" and a Django Reinhardt medley, and is simply breathtaking for a live performance with just three guitars. In addition to the DVD, a bonus CD with 24-bit digital remastering is included. Christian Escoude is also famous for his "guitar trio" performances, but his "Gypsy Trio" performance on this DVD is equally, if not more, superb, and I highly recommend it to fans who haven't heard it yet.
