This is a complete, high-quality audience recording of their live performance at Shibuya AX on April 24th, the second day of their 2012 Japan tour!
Following the shocking departure of Mike Portnoy, the band welcomed Mike Mangini as their new drummer and released their latest studio album, "A Dramatic Turn of Events." Their last visit to Japan was at Summer Sonic 2010, so this will be their first solo performance in four years. Anticipation is building for their performance. This performance, held as an additional show, took place at Shibuya AX, a live music venue. Opportunities to see Dream Theater in a live music venue are rare, making this an extremely rare experience. The highlight of the show was Mike Mangini's drumming, which was simply amazing throughout the entire performance! He's the perfect replacement for Mike Portnoy. Even among active bands, this group of skilled musicians boasts some of the world's finest performance techniques, and even after a lineup change, their performance is sure to captivate you from start to finish! The setlist for this night replaced the acoustic set ("The Silent Man" and "Beneath the Surface") that was performed midway through the Osaka show the day before with two new songs: "Wait for Sleep" and "Far from Heaven."
