This release captures the first night of Eric Clapton's 2017 London residency at the Royal Albert Hall (May 22). Although Clapton has retired from full-scale touring to focus on a limited number of annual performances, this recording documents the opening night of his three-show London run at his longtime home venue, the Royal Albert Hall. The setlist—featuring an acoustic segment amidst a lineup of songs that long-time fans will absolutely love—delivers a superb concert experience. The biggest surprise is the performance of an acoustic version of "Bell Bottom Blues," where the audience's rapture is palpable. Regarding sound quality: while this is an audience recording, it is of excellent quality, offering consistent clarity and a vivid sense of presence throughout.
