AUD / 94 min Eric Clapton's 2019 tour, which began in Japan, has now reached the American continent in the fall. This is an audience recording of his Phoenix concert in Arizona. Through the label's meticulous remastering, the cheers and shouts have been limited, and the distant, faint sound of the acoustic set has been transformed into a palpable sense of being right there with him. The cool, refreshing "Circus" is perfect for a long autumn night. "Crossroads" and "Layla" flow almost seamlessly into a medley. The electric version of "Layla," which was a hot topic at the Japanese concerts due to its long absence, has a solid, refined arrangement. For the encore, his close friend and opening act, Jimmie Vaughan, makes a guest appearance.
