George Harrison's first concert tour, the Dark Horse Tour, took place in 1974. Backed by the LA Express, including Billy Preston, who also performed with him at the Concert for Bangladesh, Tom Socott, Robben Ford, and Andy Newmark, and featuring Ravi Shankar & Friends, it garnered attention. George's vocal problems and the inclusion of Indian music drew mixed reviews. However, the tour's unique arrangements, including "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Something," featured altered lyrics and improvised renditions of Beatles hits like "In My Life" and "For You Blue," have earned it legendary status as a rare and unique tour of the 1970s. While numerous live recordings are known, the only soundboard recording available is the incomplete LA performance previously released on the GOLDIES label. Now, the November 4, 1974 Seattle Center Coliseum performance, featuring the entire concert, is here. This Seattle performance, already a classic among collectors, is now available in a first-of-its-kind, true stereo mix, based on the original mono source and the Raw Generation Master Direct sound source, and edited with the latest AI demixing technology to create an 8-channel multi-track mix. The vocals are clearer, the balance of each instrument is exquisite, and the stereo image, full of depth, is reborn as a superb sound source on a whole new level. While the original recording was a high-quality audience recording with minimal audience cheering, this recording is a stunning finish that could be described as a near-perfect stereo soundboard. Even in the Indian section, the complex instrumental structure is beautifully separated, creating a three-dimensional stereo effect. Billy Preston's funky performance also sounds clearer and more dynamic, demonstrating the tremendous effect of the multi-track stereo demixing.
