This best-of album traces Michael Jackson's glorious career, comprehensively covering his greatest hits in chronological order. It features all tracks in original mixes and alternate versions from the original multi-track masters. From the turning point of 1979's "Don't Stop Forever," through the Guinness World Record-holding monster albums "Thriller" and "BAD," to his last single released during his lifetime, "One More Chance" in 2003, and the posthumously released single "Hold My Hand" in 2010, this album contains 28 of Michael's greatest hits, representing the culmination of his solo career. However, unlike previous official best-of albums, this one features all tracks in alternate versions rather than album versions or single edits, and each track has a different editing and rarity, which is noteworthy. The "multitrack mixes" are new mixes from the multi-channel masters of the studio sessions, and are pre-edited master recordings that retain the chat and count-ins in the intro and do not fade out at the end. Some tracks are rough mixes without pre-final overdubs or mixing, or raw mixes that convey Michael's breathing and raw vocals, which are not to be missed.
