This is a live studio recording of Return to Forever, with Al Di Meola replacing Bill Connors. While this is a soundboard recording, the two sources have been combined, resulting in slightly different tonal qualities between the first and second sets. With the addition of Di Meola, the band's sound would become somewhat more metallic, but at this time they still retained a funk element, and their performances are enjoyable from the perspective of black music as well.
