This ultra-high-quality audience recording captures the first performance in Tokyo from Santana's 2013 solo tour, his first in 10 years. The highest-quality recording, digitally remastered in 24-bit from the original XAVEL label master, captures the live sound from the front center block of the arena, allowing you to relive every instrument, especially Carlos Santana's guitar, with vivid realism and stereo quality.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Santana's first visit to Japan, and it's easy to imagine the incredible performance and the ecstatic audience at the Nippon Budokan, where he returns to such a memorable venue. The two-hour-plus set, which included a mix of '70s classics and unreleased new material, featured a blissful flow from "Taboo" to "Exodus," as well as a guest appearance by Cindy Blackman, leaving us with no regrets. It was a truly satisfying performance, leaving us with no regrets! The sacred ground of Budokan 2013, the pinnacle of modern audience recording, nothing else is needed! ...Or so I thought, but I was surprised when I saw the Forum performance the next day! ! Combining the two days in Tokyo makes for a truly "God set list"! I would also like you to listen to the Forum performance, which will be released simultaneously by the XAVEL label.
The bonus tracks include footage of the rehearsals for "Cloud Nine" and "Exodus" from the sound check held before the Budokan performance opened.
