"Past Masters," a compilation of Beatles singles and alternate versions not included on official albums from the 1960s, is now available on the DAP label as an "Expanded Edition" updated for 2020 with newly remixed and remastered tracks, including tracks not included on the originals! The original mono tracks "Love Me Do" and "She Loves You" as well as the single B-sides have been remixed to true stereo, and all tracks are included in the latest stereo remasters, which differ from the regular mixes. Additionally, tracks not included on the original anthology singles and tracks not included on the LOVE Project albums have been added, making this a highly recommended collector's edition, a 2020 revised alternate collection that brings together all of the original album-unreleased tracks with no duplication! "Past Masters" was released as a compilation featuring singles not included on the official original albums and alternate versions of album tracks. The original 1988 edit was then remastered in 2009 to separate stereo and mono versions, but the recordings included this time are alternate albums with all tracks newly remixed and remastered, different from the previously released official versions.
The debut singles "Love Me Do" and "She Loves You," which only exist officially in mono, as well as the B-sides "Thank You Girl," "I'll Get You," and "You Know My Name," have been updated to true stereo mixes. In addition, unlike the original standard stereo mixes, all tracks have been individually separated for vocals and instruments, with noise removed and multiple sound sources re-edited. Compared to the original 1960s recordings, the sound image has also been altered, resulting in modern, up-to-date remix versions with improved sound quality and a more three-dimensional feel. The album also includes stereo remasters of "Only a Northern Song," "All Together Now," "Hey Bulldog," and "It's All Too Much," which were previously only available on "Mono Masters." The album also includes studio outtakes of "Movie Medley," "Free as a Bird," and "Real Love," which were previously unavailable on the anthology singles, as well as "I Saw Her Standing There," "This Boy," "Yellow Submarine," and "Here, There, and Everywhere." The album also includes non-album tracks from the LOVE project, such as "Girl" and "Fool on the Hill," and single edits of "Within You - Tomorrow Never Knows" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." This complete collection includes all 49 tracks not previously available on official albums.
