The live album "NIGHT AFTER NIGHT," which has come to be considered a posthumous work of the progressive rock movement that came to an end in the '80s, was a recording of this Nippon Seinenkan performance.
Since then, there have been many rumors about the original recording, including "apparently outtakes from the time the album was released were circulating among FCs and certain enthusiasts," and "apparently there is an unedited recording or a tape recorded live." These are now impossible to verify.
Although this recording is an audience recording, it undoubtedly stands out in quality from the many other recordings available, and is clearly different from anything I've heard before.
This seems like the perfect opportunity to learn about the editing used on the classic "NIGHT AFTER..." and why many classic songs were left out.
"CAESAR'S PALACE...," the final track on the live album, is a superb recording that not only demonstrates the band's high level of performance ability at the time, but also serves as a moving requiem for fans mourning the end of the movement.
