BOSTON's first Japan tour in 35 years, this live performance at Nippon Budokan on October 2nd, the first day of their 2014 tour, is completely captured in its entirety with a top-quality matrix recording that mixes multiple IEM sources with the original, exquisite audience source.

This release allows you to relive the emotional performance, featuring an incredible setlist that will have you exclaiming, "A True Greatest Hits!", including "Beyond the Universe," "Don't Look Back," and "Amanda!", with astonishing sound comparable to a stereo soundboard recording. XAVEL's recording team, who recently blew fans away with the Rolling Stones' Japan tour, delivered a stunning sounding album using a "multi-IEM source + original AUD source" matrix recording, and they've delivered an incredible job at this Boston Japan tour as well. The team skillfully mixed down multiple IEM sources used onstage, each with a different mix balance, with an audience source recorded at the very front of the arena. With Tom's guitar on the left channel, Gary's guitar on the right channel, vocals in the center, and drums and bass, you can experience incredible stereo sound that's positioned to reproduce your position on stage as faithfully as possible. You can even hear the twin guitar leads with perfect separation! This "multi-IEM source + original AUD source" matrix recording can be described as a new generation of live recording, so if you can find it at a venue that offers it, be sure to give it a listen! If the genius Tom Scholz was the brains and engine of the band, then the late lead singer Brad Delp, who could best be described as the band's face or chassis, passed away seven years ago. His successor, Tommy DeCarlo, has fully integrated into the band, and the band is in top form. With this, we are truly grateful to Tom & Boston for making their long-awaited visit to Japan and delivering such a fantastic performance. Bonus tracks include "Rock & Roll Band" from the sound check held before the show. This is the first commemorative item celebrating their visit to Japan, presented on a beautiful double-sided silver mirror disc that is indistinguishable from a pressed CD, and wrapped in beautiful artwork depicting a "spaceship guitar invading the Budokan"!
