This is a studio session recording of "Voodoo Chile," a signature track from Jimi Hendrix's masterpiece "Electric Ladyland," released in 1968. The session featured here was recorded at the Record Plant Studio in New York during the making of the *Electric Ladyland* album. Steve Winwood, a member of the band Traffic at the time, participated in the recording, contributing to a rare "Blues Version" improvisation session of "Voodoo Chile." Listening to this material, one gets a vivid sense of the extensive number of takes Jimi Hendrix went through to perfect the track. While the session is built upon the spontaneous, improvisational performances of the participating musicians, the sheer variety of Hendrix's playing from start to finish naturally builds excitement for the listener. It is a magnificent session lasting approximately 80 minutes. A bonus track featuring an outtake from the same year (1968) is also included. Regarding sound quality, this release is sourced from a soundboard recording; background noise has been removed, low-volume sections that were previously difficult to hear have been corrected, and the overall balance has been optimized. It offers a detailed record of a rare moment in Jimi Hendrix's career.
