The definitive collection of Neil Young's latest live footage from 2009! This two-disc set features over two and a half hours of full-volume live footage, including two sources of live performances from the Glastonbury Festival, footage from Hard Rock Calling where he performed with Paul McCartney, and pro-shot footage from Big Day Out. First, Disc 1 contains a digitally remastered recording of their performance at the Glastonbury Festival on June 26, 2009, taken from the broadcast-quality pro-shot master. While it only includes five songs and not the entire set, this title uses a superb HDTV-quality pro-shot master, resulting in a stark difference in quality compared to previously released pro-shot footage. The image quality is so stunning that it's truly astonishing, and it's a perfect finish, without the approximately 10-second audio dropout in "Words" that occurred in the previously released footage. Next, there's an audience-shot recording of their collaboration with Paul McCartney on "A Day In The Life" at the Hard Rock Calling Festival on June 27. While the picture and sound quality aren't particularly impressive, the rarity of the content makes it a must-see for fans. Finally, there's an additional pro-shot recording of "The Needle & The Damage Done" from the Big Day Out Festival in Sydney on January 23. Disc 2 contains an alternative source from the Glastonbury Festival, featuring fantastic audience footage captured from the front row of the venue. While there are some slight camera shakes, it offers excellent close-ups of the stage, includes almost all of the songs that were cut from the broadcast, and boasts superb sound quality.
