This is a soundboard recording from the 1979 tour of The Jacksons in support of their album "Destiny," specifically from their Amsterdam concert in the Netherlands. The Jacksons, as you know, are the band of Michael Jackson and his brother. Funkier than Michael's solo work, this is irresistible to fans of black music. While the Jackson 5, the predecessor to The Jacksons, featured famous songs with Michael's vocals when he was still a child, this live performance showcases his mature vocals. The combination of funky rhythms and Michael's adult vocals creates a cool sound unique to this period. Although it's a soundboard recording, the original master had a harsh, high-frequency-heavy vocal sound, which has been improved through remastering for easier listening. The adjustment of the high frequencies has also increased the bass volume, resulting in an overall higher sound pressure.
