If you're a rock music fan, you've probably heard the name Bill Graham at least once. He founded the Fillmore, a live music venue in San Francisco and New York, from which countless classic albums were released. He nurtured the Flower Power movement, supported massive rock events like Monterey and Woodstock behind the scenes, and later led charity events such as Live Aid and the Amnesty International Tour. He was a leading promoter in the rock world. Sadly, however, he tragically ended his glorious life in a helicopter crash. A memorial concert featuring CSNY, Santana, and the Grateful Dead, all of whom he nurtured, was held. On November 3, 1991, "Laughter, Love & Music" was held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco to commemorate his death. Nearly 500,000 people gathered at the venue for this historic concert mourning his passing.
