ABBA, Sweden's timeless supergroup, has enjoyed global popularity from the 1970s to the present day. This complete edition, featuring nearly six hours of stunning footage from over 50 years of BBC broadcasts, is now available on two Blu-ray discs! This Blu-ray release features the original broadcast versions and documentaries, centered around the BBC special program broadcast in 2024 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the band's first Eurovision Song Contest win in the UK in 1974. Vol. 1 begins with "ABBA at the BBC," produced in 2013. It features a curated selection of hits from numerous BBC broadcasts, including "Top of the Pops," since their debut in 1974. Widescreen HD footage from the 2024 rebroadcast also brings back past broadcasts in high definition. The following volume, "The Original Broadcasts," features the original broadcast versions. While "ABBA at the BBC" includes captions and widescreen trimming, this release features the entire footage as it was originally broadcast. It also includes rare, unedited segments from the historic "Eurovision" competition and previously unreleased BBC broadcasts, making it an even more valuable collection. The 2024 documentary "When ABBA Came to Britain" chronicles ABBA's achievements in the UK, featuring rare early footage from before their debut and a look at their immense influence in the UK. It's a must-see for fans, featuring appearances by Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and members of Blossoms. Vol. 2 is taken from the 2024 sequel, "More ABBA at the BBC." It begins with footage from the "Voyage" virtual reunion concert held in London in 2022, and includes solo and new material, focusing on songs not previously included in the previous release. Of particular note is the 1974 Top of the Pops performance of "So Long," a lost master unearthed for the first time in 50 years as archival footage. The following "ABBA in Switzerland" features a high-definition rebroadcast of the 1979 BBC Christmas Special. It features not only ABBA but also Roxy Music and Kate Bush. The final documentary, "The Joy of ABBA," is also a must-see, featuring new rare early footage and interviews, as well as fascinating insights into ABBA's influence on Elvis Costello and the Sex Pistols during the punk boom of the 1970s. This nearly six-hour compilation of ABBA footage is a must-have collector's item, definitive in both content and quality!
