In recent years, the "Mike Millard Tapes" have been increasingly digitized from direct masters or low-generation tapes. These tapes were recorded by Mike Millard, a taper familiar to fans for his exceptional audience recording skills. While this label has released several recordings using these newly digitized Mike Millard Tapes as masters, you may have noticed that there are two types: "Brushed Mike Millard Tapes" and "Legendary Mike Millard Tapes." Not all Mike Millard tapes have perfect sound quality; some have considerable room for improvement, and those that have been significantly edited and improved are the "Brushed" series. Those that were originally near-perfect with little room for improvement, and only minor editing such as light cuts between tracks, are the "Legendary" series.

This time, we feature Brand X, a technically skilled British jazz-rock band, from the "Legendary" series. First, regarding sound quality, it's truly worthy of the "Legendary" series. The only issue is that the band's name is somewhat less well-known, but they are an important band that all fans of jazz-rock and British progressive rock must listen to. The rhythm section, consisting of electric bass master Percy Jones, who could be called the Jaco Pastorius of Europe, and Phil Collins, who returned after a temporary absence due to his busy schedule with Genesis, is breathtaking, soaring freely and creating a grand waltz of twin keyboards and guitars. Phil Collins is well-known for his talent as a pop vocalist in the 90s, but he was also a top-notch drummer, and this recording proves that fact. While Genesis, who were active around the same time, expressed their unique worldview with creative songs, Brand X is a robust jazz-rock band that relies on their instrumental prowess. As mentioned earlier, the sound quality is also excellent, so it's recommended even for those experiencing Brand X for the first time.
