A video collection of the Five Peace Band, the band led by Chick Corea and John McLaughlin, has arrived. This luxurious two-disc DVD set includes footage from three sources: a performance in Seoul just before their 2009 Japan tour, a performance in Spain in 2008, and an in-store live performance held during their Japan tour. It also includes two bonus audio tracks from their Japan performance. Disc 1 features two and a half hours of footage from their Seoul performance on January 31, 2009. While it's audience footage, the close-ups capture each member clearly, and it's great that it covers the entire lengthy performance. Disc 2 begins with their performance in Spain on November 17, 2008. This release includes only the middle of "Raju" and the encore "In A Silent Way ~ It's About That Time," but it's a valuable video that allows you to see Vinnie Colaiuta, who left the band at the end of 2008, in action. It's also an audience shot, but it's a very stable video that makes extensive use of close-ups. Next is a broadcast-quality professional recording of an in-store live performance by Chick & John that took place on February 4, 2009, in between their Japan tour dates. Finally, as a bonus, there are two additional tracks from the February 5th show, recorded with superb sound quality audience audio, although this is audio only. This bonus audio uses the master source of the audio already released on CD by the Wildlife label, and is recorded without down-converting from the original 24-bit/48000Hz master, resulting in ultra-high-quality audio that you absolutely must listen to.
