John in the mid-90s A video item featuring two live performances by Scofield, both in official-quality packaging, has arrived.

The first part is a digitally remastered, professionally shot recording of his performance at Jazz Baltica in Germany on July 14, 1995, where he appeared with the Scandinavian Trio consisting of Knut Riisnaes, Lars Danielsson, and Jon Christensen.

The collaboration with the serene sound typical of Scandinavian jazz offers a glimpse into a new aspect of the charm of Scofield's bluesy feel.

The second part is a digitally remastered, professionally shot recording of his performance in Stuttgart, Germany on June 29, from the 1994 collaborative live tour with Pat Metheny, famous for "Summertime."

Although it only includes two songs interspersed with an interview, the sound, which is a stark contrast to the first half and fully embraces a funky feeling, and the performance, which is full of Scofield's signature style, are breathtaking. The intense, almost sword-fight-like interplay between him and Pat Metheny is also a must-see.
