This is an extremely rare title, remastered from newly discovered master tapes. This is the first time these completely unreleased master tapes have seen the light of day.
In 1979, as part of their acclaimed Jazz Tour, Queen embarked on their third tour of Japan. Of the 15 dates, five were held at the Budokan, and now, recordings from four of those performances have been discovered. These recordings are being released as "UP FIELD TAPES BUDOKAN," with two performances in each of two titles. Volume 1 contains the April 14th and April 23rd performances, and Volume 2 contains the April 24th and April 25th performances.
Furthermore, a replica of the ticket from that day, unearthed along with the audio, is also included.
While the audience recording is not of the highest quality, it is a valuable record of a rare performance in Japan by a band unparalleled in rock history, and its high historical significance is a major factor in its release. Audience recording enthusiasts will surely enjoy it.
*Disc 2's master recording had extremely poor sound quality, so much so that the tracks were barely discernible due to the noise. However, it was somehow unearthed and included through remastering. Disc 2 is included purely as valuable historical material and should be considered a bonus disc.
