A treasure trove of the charm of the 80s "super guitar trio" is now available from Our Prayer label! This is an astonishingly superb sound quality item, featuring digitally remastered recordings from the best existing audience masters of Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, and Paco De Lucia's early 80s tours: the now-legendary 1981 Boston performance and the 1983 NY performance with Steve Morse. While soundboard recordings and professional video footage of this guitar trio from this period are scattered throughout the catalog, most are recorded in mono, and the compression and excessive equalization used during broadcasting have resulted in the loss of the unique and captivating guitar tones of the three members. As a result, there has been no item that fans can truly call "superb." This title was created to break through this situation. Although the master used for Paco's solo part at the Boston concert is of slightly lower quality, the rest of the concert and the first part of the New York concert capture the incredible guitar battles with extremely raw and superb sound quality, seemingly recorded from a front position in the venue. What fans absolutely cannot miss is the guitar playing of the young Steve Morse at the New York concert, which almost overshadows the three main members. In "Splendido Sundance" and "Tres Hermanos," Morse acts as the catalyst, unleashing an unprecedentedly fierce guitar battle, making this the highlight of the release.
