This is a special "best-of" collection featuring unreleased recordings from the 1975 masterpiece *The Basement Tapes* by Bob Dylan & The Band!

While some of these recordings were previously released in 1975 as *The Basement Tapes*—featuring new overdubs added by Robbie Robertson—the tracks and demos included here stem from sessions held between 1969 and 1970. Recorded in the basement of a Woodstock house known as "Big Pink," these sessions involved Dylan and four of the five musicians who would go on to debut as The Band (excluding Levon Helm). These recordings remain legendary today, capturing not only original songs but also a vast array of covers spanning eras and genres—including rock 'n' roll, rockabilly, folk, country, R&B, blues, gospel, pop standards, and more—making them historically invaluable.
Many cover songs were also recorded during the early "Red Room" sessions.
From this massive archive, the finest takes have been selected for this massive 2-disc set, boasting a staggering 48 tracks.
