It's certainly a title that aims to include a complete collection of Prince's recordings, both vinyl and CD. However, Fun With Vinyl is particular about sound. The recordings were played on a Technics SL-1200MK2 record player and recorded to a Sony PCM-R300 DAT tape via a Yamaha RX-Z1 audio/video receiver. The audio was then imported to a PC using a Turtle Beach Catalina sound card and Cool Edit Pro software, where it was remastered, including removing clicks, and converted to digital WAV files. The sound quality is of the highest order. Another groundbreaking feature is the inclusion of edited versions not previously included in the Anthology series, as well as B-sides that were omitted because Prince was not involved. It also includes artists who were associated with Prince, both before and after him.

This Volume 10 is divided into Parts 1, 2, and 3. It includes albums and remixes written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

Part 1 features Girls Will Be Girls, the climax of their all-female R&B and funk band, from their earliest days, likely before Prince even knew of their work. They produced four tracks—Wild Girls, The Man in My Life, Heartbreaker, and All Turned Out—and also worked on rhythm and vocal arrangements, demonstrating their involvement throughout the album. It's a masterpiece, an exquisite fusion of synth-funk and street soul.

And then there's the remix of Cherelle, whose signature song was produced entirely by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who established their musical identity on all three albums. The remixes of classics like "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On," also covered by Robert Palmer, and "Saturday Love" with Alexander O'Neal are incredibly cool, especially the extended versions.
