The exquisite early numbers, performed with former Spencer Davis Group members Nigel Olsson and Dee Murray, and strings, are sure to bring tears to the eyes of fans and non-fans alike. Next, the live performance held on December 8, 1971, at the same BBC Studios, has also been recorded in superb quality from a rebroadcast master. The show features songs primarily from his album "Madman," released that same year, offering a tight performance that could be described as a culmination of rock and roll in a piano trio setting. Finally, it includes a high-definition pro-shot recording of his Christmas concert on December 24, 1974, after the consecutive releases of his masterpieces "Brick Road" and "Caribbean."
