This is a live recording by Herbie Hancock, or rather, as the cover suggests, a four-piece quartet. The recording took place at the Théâtre du Châtelet, a magnificent venue in France known for its operas and other performances. The master was taken from an FM broadcast there. The sound quality is excellent, allowing you to feel the tactile feel of the acoustic bass strings and the wind pressure of the saxophone. The hiss noise has been cut and the clarity has been improved slightly. The DJ speeches in French between songs have been cut, so they fade out with cheers after each song, but you can enjoy the concert much more comfortably than if they were interrupted by the DJ speeches.
