A complete recording of the Oscar Peterson Quartet's concert in Munich, Germany on July 13, 1994, captured in official-quality professional video. Oscar Peterson, a figure synonymous with refined piano jazz sound, passed away at the end of 2007 at the age of 82 due to kidney failure. This film captures his stage performance immediately after his comeback the year following a stroke, in a professionally shot video with perfect camerawork. Although his left hand still seems slightly out of form, the entire performance is a magnificent display of flawless, exquisite piano playing that captivates all who watch it. The supporting band's performance is also impeccable, with Lome Lofsky's orthodox jazz guitar playing, which he had only recently joined, and the warm playing of Niels-Henning Orsted-Pedersen and Martin Drew, who supported Peterson for many years, being especially moving when viewed in this superb professional video. Even in the midst of a turbulent jazz scene, Oscar Peterson continued to convey the charm of good old traditional jazz to audiences, and you can enjoy the supreme piano jazz backed by his solid technique.
