This concert, the final of five shows at the United Center, delivered a satisfying performance worthy of Chicago's final night. Opening with the new song "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)," the set was a stunning, fully realized, quintessential rock show, two months into the tour. Bono seemed in high spirits as he brought a fan up onstage midway through the set, exclaiming to a young girl who'd traveled all the way from Mississippi, "Isn't that Taylor Swift? I have all your records!" And during the killer tune-filled second half of "We've Been Waiting For This!", the audience's sing-along was captured with stunning realism. The final encore of the night was "40," and the show ended with a truly moving sing-along of "How long to sing this song." This exquisitely balanced stereo mix combines the multiple IEM sources used by Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry onstage, each with their own unique mix balance, with the label's original AUD source. The first half of the first day (up until the film "The Wanderer") featured unstable IEM sources, resulting in a subpar sound quality primarily based on AUD sources, but the second half of the show delivered a remarkable transformation. The second day delivered consistently high-quality sound throughout. While there were some audible clicks and counts typical of IEM sources, Bono's vocals were centered around his powerful presence, and each instrument was captured with excellent separation and clarity. Enjoy two hot nights in Toronto with superb sound quality that surpasses even the final Chicago performance ("My Kind of Town" XAVEL-SMS-051), previously released by the same XAVEL label. The setlist for this two-day Toronto concert was significantly altered. On the first day, the band brought U2 tribute band Acrobat onstage to perform "Desire," followed by Edge's stunning vocals on "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of," and a moving finale that transitioned from "Owari Naki Tabi" to "Stand by Me." It's safe to say the performance was truly special, unique to this particular night. On the second day, a female audience member was invited onto the stage, and they performed two songs, "Angel of Harlem" and "All I Want Is You," accompanied by her acoustic guitar backing. Unfortunately, Edge's guitar trouble caused the set to be cut short during the originally scheduled "The Crystal Ballroom," but the encore performance, right up to the final song, "One," delivered a stunning performance worthy of concluding two incredibly exciting days. The two-day performance, which was heavily influenced by the "love and peace" theme unique to Toronto, including a snippet of "Instant Karma" inserted into "Beautiful Day," is a must-listen for all U2 fans!
